wow yankees are really striking out
You know what, **** US!!!
Just for being douches and losing out on every FA on the planet, I hope Ichiro signs a 1-year deal with the Mets for $600.
This has become a complete and utter joke.
Ichiro, Ibanez and Youkilis will all have new homes, not in NY. Bank on it.

Oh but HEY Hal.. you are a "finance guy" right!?! You and your $189M cap saving your $50M is going to cost you your fan base!!!
GO YANKEES!!!!!
Sounds like you guys need to calm down and have a little faith. Many good players remain and could sign in January![]()
I honestly can't imagine any realistic moves that legitimately make this team better. That is a little sad.

From a Newsday article - Earlier in the day, Yankees president Randy Levine reiterated the organization's stance on payroll, saying, "the goal here is very, very simple. We believe in 2014 that at $189 million dollars, which will be the highest payroll in baseball, that we can put a really quality championship team on the field. We believe that's very doable, we believe we can do it. And it's not that we are looking to save money, it's not that we're looking to not be as productive as we can . . . We think it makes us better and smart and that's what we're going to try and do."
At least we can take comfort in the fact that this isn't happening just to save money! Its happening because it makes the Yankees better and smart...somehow.
Oh, wait...Eric Hinske is already signed.
LMAO. Oy.![]()
