Harry, I grew up with the phillies and learned the game by your voice. You will always be missed but never forgotten. Though you are no longer with us, you'll never be "outta here" in our hearts!
Now whats the next move?
youlk then Victorino?
I'd be surprised to see either Victorino or Youk playing for the Phils next season.
Theres still Bourne, and would u make a trade for the other Upton brother from the DBacks? I dont see Vic coming back supposedly through hardball talk last night there where 8 teams interested in him.
and thus, Fred puts BJ Upton on his "can't stand" list....(previously was seen on his "I might like him a lot" list)
let him suck in that half empty stadium...we would have booed him religiously once he started his k garbage constantly

Speculation is that the Phillies are making the Lopez deal on the cheap for a big splash ala Hamilton.... I wouldn't be opposed for the right money.
I wanted Upton for the team, but I'm honestly not going to lose sleep over not signing him.
This gives me a little comfort that RAJ may be learning from prior mistakes. Not worth overpaying for anyone.@mlbbowman
The Phillies were the first to express interest in B.J. Upton. But their best offer was five years for $55 million. #Braves
Upton? dead, neidermeyer? dead
That had to burn the braves if true..they bid against themselves lol

Ruben for once actually made a very intelligent offer, 11 mil per for 5 years seems pretty fair for a guy who has been average/below average offensively for his entire career. He broke out power wise last year, but regardless he still hit .246 with a sub .300 OBP. No thanks, have fun with that 75 million Atlanta.

fwiw, Upton hasn't been a below average player since 2006. And his only full season as a below average hitter was 2009. Generally speaking, he's between 7-15% above average as a hitter.
I know you're trying to justify and all that...
