    Lets not forget that Texas has zero state tax as opposed to the highest tax in California...that makes a big difference at 160M plus

    IIRC you pay taxes per game in the state you play in, so yes he would benefit from playing in Texas (or FL, or WA), but not for 100% of the income. That's still at least an ~$10.5MM advantage assuming a $160MM contract and a top line CA rate of 13.3% in 2013.

    You can deduct state income tax from your federal tax return as an itemized deduction

    Honestly, I think the Ian Stewart resigning already caused the majority of flipping out. Anything unsavory post-Stewart will probably be less crazy.
