Maybe Boston should have protected Josh Fields.

RT @BenBadler Rondon hasn't stayed healthy last 3 years, but talked to scouts who saw him throwing hard in VZ. Not surprised he went high.
    Still only 24 years old.

    Edit: wrong article

    Here you go: http://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index..._carrasco.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio — For teams that have dropped out of contention as quickly and convincingly as the Indians this season, there isn't much to do except get through the remaining games on the schedule and look to the future.
On Tuesday, a name from the Indians' past, right-hander Hector Rondon, was promoted from the Arizona Rookie League Indians to Class AA Akron. It could be that Rondon figures into the Indians' future.
Rondon, a former prospect as a starter, is now a reliever following two major elbow operations. He had Tommy John surgery Aug. 25, 2010, after pitching at Class AAA Columbus. In 2011, he was pitching winter ball in Venezuela, and fractured the same elbow.
"Like any pitcher coming off surgery, his elbow is still tight, but he's been pitching well," said Ross Atkins, Indians director of player development. "He just punched out five guys in two innings in Arizona while throwing between 97 mph and 98 mph."
The plan is for Rondon to finish the year and the playoffs with Akron and pitch winter ball. If the Indians bring him to spring training in 2013, they will have to add him to the 40-man roster. If not, Rondon, 24, can be a minor-league free agent.

Rondon used to be a top prospect for the Indians...good arm when healthy. Sucks the Astros jumped on Fields.

Rondon looks like a solid pick. Good minor league numbers until he was hurt I'd guess? I like it.

Yeah, we should really suck next year, and then find out everyone the Astros are after in the draft and then just pick them right before the Astros pick.

Good thing about picking a guy like Rondon, no one will think twice when he's stashed away on the DL.

Can we please get someone who has not had a major arm surgery in the past year? Is this too much to ask? (Note: I'm all for the rebuild, and I have no problem going through another ****** season if it means better things to come, but I'm just not a fan of damaged goods, especially when it's starting to seem like a common trend...)

You don't want to get into a sucking contest with the Astros. You won't come out on top.
