If we can get Myers for Niese and a low level prospect than this is what should happen.

Yeah. We really need to try for it. Niese can be replaced. Its not easy but a pitcher with similar production can be found, even within our own farm system. We need a big young stud bat to go along with our up and coming arms to build a really nice core to this team. Having Myers would change the whole feeling of this club imo. Kid is a star.

I don't think wed get myers for niese but I'm all for just extending dickey and having a sick rotation. We could always trade him mid year when teams get more desperate.

...and you just devastated your pitching depth

It leaves the Mets with Santana, Harvey, Gee, Hefner and Mejia with Wheeler and McHugh and yes Schwinden as the surplus.

I think Pelfrey's asking price is out of the Mets range.

...and Gorski could be an option or he could get lit up in Las Vegas.

    More importantly, we'd have a line-up of:

    SS-Tejada(R)
    2B-Murphy(L)
    2B-Wright(R)
    1B-Davis(L)
    RF-Myers(R)
    CF-Nieuwenhuis(L)
    LF-Olt(R)
    C-Thole(L)

Not if Dickey/Niese is traded, it frees up money.

Looks good on paper, but I am one who believes in pitching first, I could be down with one of those deals, not both.

For other areas which still need to be addressed such as catcher and pen.

There will be some pitching available in 2014. Guys like Garza or Hammel would be nice additions. Shields could be had in 2015 after his options finally run out. Our outfield would be set for years on the cheap and we could go after a guy like Aaron Hill in 2014 with the extra cash.

Mets dont have enough cash to spend on those 2 areas and the outfield because the outfield is commanding so much $$ in the market. I feel like they almost need to make a trade...
