Maybe this ends up being a 3 team deal so the Mets get exactly what they'd want? That's the best I can see...

I have to believe that all 3 can make acceptable offers. TOR would have had to make TDA available while Texas has Olt, Martin, Perez, Andrus (a combination of any of those would be epic) and the Angels have Trumbo, Bourjos, Calhoun, and prospects (again, they could come up with something.) If Texas offers Olt and Martin or TOR offers TDA and Gose, id jizz my pants

AA wouldnt trade TdA for a 38 year old on a 1 year deal, he's not stupid here.

And out of curiosity, why are some ok with a Bourjos+ Trumbo but not Gose+ JPA? JPA is basically Trumbo but can play catcher, and Gose has just as high if not higher ceiling than Bourjos.

acceptable offers yes. I mean offers that will make the Mets so serious to pull the trigger that they don't play the market a bit more. The way it sounds, Mets want to make a deal today. In that case, that means the offer must be amazing and can't miss.

Like a Josh Hamilton 5 years 125 million type offer on the table

JPA and Gose would be a let down. JPA only plus is power and played at a hitters park. Both of them had their best years playing at Las Vegas and the PCL. Wait to we see how much "better" our hitters are in the PCL.

Yes but Trumbo's value is diminished if he's forced to play the OF for the Mets. They both produce power and low OBP at the plate. Catchers arent known as offensive juggernauts anyways.

Edit: and if there's no extension then I dont see the Blue Jays landing him.

Signs point to #bluejays leading in dickey chase. Have the prospects to get it done.

Yeah, I dont see the Blue Jays trading for Dickey with no extension. Id have trouble seeing them putting the best offer on the table if they dont think he will resign

AdamRubinESPN Mets people said during winter meetings that a Dickey trade likely would mean Jenrry Mejia plugging rotation spot until Zack Wheeler ready.

If the package is based around JP Arencibia, then this is a HUGE, HUGE disappointment. I've watched the Blue Jays for years now living in Ottawa, this is NOT the guy we want. RA should be getting a Mark Trumbo package, not JPA. Travis D'Arnaud, yes.

d'Arnaud or bust. Arencibia+ would be a major let down. I'd take Olt over JPA and Gose all day.
