This has to help the Mets with possibly moving Dickey just based on the availability of pitchers like him on the market now.

For that package? Hell yeah. Odorizzi could end up being as good as Niese and is MLB ready, so it would really be Dickey for Myers, Montgomery, and Leonard? Take that anytime. Myers is an elite talent.

I see no benefit for Olt hitting in Las Vagas instead of Queens. The ideal OF for next season would be: LF-Ross, CF-Martin, RF-Olt. I would be pumped to see that outfield.

At that point, I'd just sign AJ Pierzynski and Kelly Shoppach in a platoon since we'd have money to spend and no one to really spend it on.

We could sign Cody Ross as well.

4 righties and 4 lefties. Very balanced. We can trade off some guys like Kirk for whatever needs we have.

I don't think Sandy is going to sign Pierzinski, another lefty hitting catcher. He seems willing to give Thole the chance to platoon, or at least be the backup. Meanwhile, there are really no good FA options available. IMO, Shoppach flunked his audition. So, when you get right down to it, Arencibia is the best available option, unless Sandy pulls a rabbit out of his hat. J.P. has some pop, hits left handed pitching reasonably well (to the tune of .244 with a .500 SLG last year) and is under team control through 2016. He's our guy.

Otherwise, your lineup looks OK (I like the Ross idea too) except that I think Olt would spend at least the first half of the season in Las Vegas, while Nieuwenhuis and Hairston (who I still believe Sandy will sign) share right field.

Martin sounds like a very valuable up the middle player.

This team needs as many talented all around ballplayers as it can get. They need to get away from the world of infinite platoon players.

They are in win-now mode. They don't want prospects. Some Toronto fan made that sure to me.

Yeah but they could easily roll with Buck as the starter and then call up D'Arnaud by midseason, or by June. That's the plan regardless. I don't think JPA vs Buck is that different in their eyes for this year besides JPA's upside. If they were getting prospects they thought could help them, they might move him.
