Obviously.... nothing else is going to happen until he signs. I understand why he isnt rushing but the longer he takes the longer we have to wait for the Mets to do something.

The MLB forum is talking about a potential blockbuster trade involving 4 teams including the Royals and Rangers. Now they're saying Meyers and Olt may be part of it. Not sure how much is truth, but hmm.

    From the Jays Forum

Take it with a grain of salt but :

@KennedyMLB: Bob Elliott saying: "Am told" JP Arencibia and Gose gets the Jays Dickey, "but Mets still looking for better offers."
Could end up being the best deal the mets get if the Royals and Rangers get their pitchers

Gose has a lot of potential but Im gonna be very disappointed if this is all we get. Id rather throw in a little something extra and get d'Arnaud than JPA. The guys career best AVG is .233 and a .275 OBP. Thats just bad. I know he has pop but we can't afford to settle for that when we ***** about Thole who has a career .331 and is younger. If they threw in Syndergaard as well, thatd be fine.

Gose did have 34 steals in AAA last year with 21 doubles and 10 triples, but 101 K's in 420 Ab's is not gonna cut it. He can't be the center piece. If you get him and d'Arnaud, ill be pleased. 16 homers and 21 doubles to go with good D behind the plate?

I don't think Arencibia is that good. He has like a .700 OPS and hits ~.230.

The guy barely has 1,000 followers. I don't think he's a legit source

If they added McGuire and Nolin or something like that I would do it.

Problem with the jays is the mets most interest would be in d'arnaud who you won't trade. Also the outfielder u traded to the Marlins is prob the guy the mets had most interest in.

you guys are shooting way too high.. no team is gonna trade a top 10 prospect and a top 50 prospect for a 37 year old starter.. just not gonna happen

This post is very misleading. All you say is that Dickey is a 37 year old starter. You fail to mention that he's just had a phenomenal season by both traditional and sabr standards, and that he's also just won the NL Cy Young.

Dickey has also thrown many fewer innings than other 37 year old starters. That's less wear on his arm. Add that to the fact that the main pitch he throws, which he uses probably around 85% of the time, is a pitch which puts much less stress on his arm than say, a slider or curveball.

Even if you ignore all of those facts, look at the example set by the Mets when they traded an elder Carlos Beltran, who would not have netted a pick, for Giants' #2 or 3 prospect Zack Wheeler. Things happen on the open market. It all depends on the demand.

Even if you ignore the age, you also have to keep in mind that he has 1 year left on his deal..

As for the Beltran deal, teams tend to get desperate at the deadline and the Mets basically caught a perfect storm in that situation

I mention on the MLB forum that J.P. is not much better than Thole, hell they have put similar production in their short careers. Now the one thing he give you is pop and I would not mind him and Thole as a tandem.

I like Gose a lot because of his plus speed, plus arm and plus defense and I think he will be an average offensive center fielder, but because of the other tools he should be a very productive player.

...but those 2 guys alone for Dickey is not enough for me, they have to add a pitcher. I want one of Sanchez or Syndergaard, but I would take Nolin as well.

Lets just extend Dickey unless we get a great deal...and by great deal I mean a top 20 prospect.

    Thats my stance.
