Plus we had traded the next Ken Griffey the year before for scraps so we wanted more than what Josh Hamilton could offer!

O's looking for power bat, wonder if Soriano would waive his NTC now that they are better than bad.

Has Soriano provided a list of teams he is willing to waive his no-trade or will this be Dempster part II ?

You would have to ask Theo and Jed that question and not believe the BS that is put out there by speculation.

Soriano for Matusz and Reimold would be of interest to me.

I wouldn't complain about just Matusz, tbh.

Same here, but I figure Reimold would be a pretty sweet cherry on top.

Also, Prior's career in Chicago was hanging on by a thread at that point.
Left off the Rays' 40-man roster, Hamilton was selected third overall[2] in the 2006 Rule 5 Draft by the Chicago Cubs
It was after the 2006 season so I was off a bit, but it was in 2006 all the same.

Forget Reimold. I'd go for Matusz and FINALLY get Brian Roberts, just to take the chance of seeing if he can get back and have 2 good years left in him.

Atlanta and Tampa seem like the top two teams that are interested that he'd accept a trade to. Not really sure how interested the Yanks or Rangers are at this point and it may come down to what Swisher and Hamilton do. Soriano+/cash to Braves for Delgado would be nice.

That's the whole point. If he's selected in the 2006 Rule 5 draft, he has to be placed and left on the 2007 roster.

I disagree. You had a chance to see how Hamilton can handle the pros before that Rule 5 draft. You didn't get that with the other guys.
