Javon Belcher involved in murder suicide

I know this isn't Raider related but this is so sad. As much as we "hate" KC, keep the organization in your thoughts and prayers.

He shot his girlfriend then drove to arrowhead stadium an shot himself in front of 2 team officials.

Javon Belcher, a Long Island, NY native and alum of West Babylon High School, has reportedly been involved in a murder-suicide, which ended outside the Kansas City Chiefs practice facilities Saturday morning.

Jovan Belcher, a Long Island, NY native and alum of West Babylon High School, is reportedly the gunman involved in a murder-suicide that happened outside the Kansas City Chiefs practice facilitates early Saturday morning, according to KWHB's Kevin Kietzman of Kansas City. KMBZ's Danny Parkins was one of the first media personal on the scene that reported the shooting.

According to information collected by the SB Nation blog Arrowhead Pride, Belcher, a starting linebacker for the Chiefs, shot and killed his girlfriend and then drove to the Chiefs' practice facility where he ended his own life. Blecher apparently was met by Chiefs' coaches in the parking lot before he committed suicide.

    Douche Bag...

If he was unhappy he could have checked into the Hotel California alone, he didn't need to take his girlfriend with him.

This isn't the time for name calling where mental illness is involved. My prayers to both families.

Look man, its one thing if he simply took his own life, but he murdered his girlfriend. I have two daughters myself, the man is a douche...He killed an innocent girl. My thoughts and prayers are with the families.

For general manager Scott Pioli and coach Romeo Crennel, who witnessed the shooting according to police, Saturday's tragedy will be a life-changing event. Police said that Belcher thanked Pioli and Crennel for all they had done for him before Belcher took his own life. Kansas City mayor Sly James spoke with Pioli on Saturday, saying Pioli was "very emotional about this."

"I can tell you that you have absolutely no idea of what it's like to see somebody kill themselves," James said via Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports. "If you can take your worst nightmare and then put somebody you know and love into that situation and give them a gun and stand 3 feet away from them and watch them kill themselves, that's what it's like. It's unfathomable. It's something that you would love to wash away from your mind, but you can't do it. There's nothing like it. There's nothing like it. Think about your worst nightmare and multiply by five."

The Chiefs announced Saturday afternoon that the team would play it's game against the Carolina Panthers as scheduled.

"After discussions between the league office, Head Coach Romeo Crennel and Chiefs team captains, the Chiefs advised the NFL that it will play tomorrow's game vs. the Carolina Panthers at its originally scheduled time," the team announced in a statement.

James helped provide the team's reasoning to play in his statements to the media.

"I think that they believe there's an obligation to the people of this city and the fans of this team and the fans of the other team to proceed and go forward," James said. "Scott is extremely concerned about making sure the fans of this team are not disappointed or left out in the cold by any decision they make. He's trying to do what's right."

Romeo seems like a really good guy, I really feel for how things turned out for him in Kansas City. This tragedy aside the whole situation in Kansas City is a train wreck.

A guy I work with went to school with him and socialized with him when he came home to visit. He said that he was one of the nicest people he ever knew and never said that there was any problem. Go figure?
