Soriano's as likely to do 2012 as he is 2011 at this point.
Soriano could realistically have an even better year in 2013 than he did this year if he's hitting in Philadelphia for half the season.

I would take a chance on Jackson for Soriano. Soriano doesn't have a future with the Cubs so they might as well take a chance on a rebound candidate that will be under team control for multiple years. I think Soriano for Brown is a win for both teams.

But probably not. His defensive blip on the radar doesn't likely hold up.

His offense may be slightly better. His defense will probably come back to normal. Which is to say, drop to around neutral considering he's 35 and there's no way, even with defensive improvements, his defense holds up to GG levels like it did in 2012.

Soriano is closer to, probably, a true 2-2.5 win player going forward than a 3-4 win player.

So is Michael Young, and the Phillies just traded for him and will pay him $6 million this year. It's not like Soriano has 4 or 5 years left.

He was old last year too. The "because he's old" defense is way overused. I don't see him declining that much over two years, especially when the team getting him only has to pay 5mil per year.

It might be overused but that's an entirely plausible reason for teams to not want to trade for Soriano. Especially if they are giving up a prospect of value along with it.

Soriano makes more sense for an AL club. But if Philly gives us Brown and pays say 10-15 mil I'm all for it

The #Dbacks would much prefer getting Gregorius back from the #Indians for young pitching than Cabrera
