Brown for Soriano would be incredible.

Brown definitely has concerns, but considering how little we would've gotten for Soriano in the past, if that ever gets serioiusly offered, we need to jump all over that and pay as much of his contract as necessary. The Phillies could still use a couple more outfielders depending on how they view Ruf, so them signing Ross hopefully wouldn't kill this.

Hopefully Heyman is rephrasing that to say the Phillies will look at FA first and then move to Soriano, instead of FA being more likely. It would be great if we just signed Cody Ross to address a corner OF spot, and then dealt Soriano to the Phils.

Cubs also shopped Soriano to Astros as a possible DH, but Astros don't have enough money (even with Cubs contributing a lot).

Speaking of DH, Rays are looking for one.

The Phillies currently have Ruf, Mayberry, Revere, and Brown in the OF I believe. The Phillies are already old as hell, so they might as well get older with Soriano.

The Astros don't have enough money? Are you kidding me? They have 800K committed to their payroll outside of guys making the league minimum. That's a 10M dollar payroll. If they don't have enough money then the team needs to be confiscated right now.

Doubt Soriano goes to Tampa because he's already said he doesn't want to DH.

Doubt he goes to Houston period.

I just don't get how teams aren't jumping on Soriano at 2 years/$10 million.

Because we're one calender year away from him not even really being worth that.

Soriano's as likely to do 2012 as he is 2011 at this point.

1.4 fWAR in 2011, still probably worth 5 mil

    Worth $5m.

Not worth $5m + a prospect of some value, which is what people are asking for.

While I'm not against dealing Sori for Brown, I'm not sure why it's a particularly thrilling deal. Would anyone be thrilled to be getting BJax back for Sori?
