Just going to throw this out there...defense translates pretty well. He was not acquired for his bat, though that could surprise in the Arizona air.
It's certainly easier to assume he lives up to his hype - basically a Darwin Barney type starter at SS - than Bauer lives up to his. Bauer's got a ton of work to do to get to where he's said to be going.

Because the standard for good hitter, especially for SS, is not all that high and probably out of his realm of possibilities.
The other part is troll, but sure I do like calling my co-workers on their non-sense as they plow on ahead with full confidence anyway. I await my round of applause, but it's possible I forgot how that ended.
