I'm ok with Borne at Upton's price, (wouldn't love it, but would be ok with it) but anything above it I say no.

I think that is about what he is worth, but I don't think it makes sense for this team. Too much risk on the back end of a 5 year deal with him. Also, I think we are trying to see how many incorrect ways we can spell Born.

With a 100 million contract approaching 30, regression is imminent most of the time. Because there has been times where his BABIP was not maintained, it makes the contract even more questionable. It would be foolish to spend on a big player like Bourn as a first splash, approaching 30, with questions.

Also sounds like the Giants and Phillies are keying in on Angel Pagan. If Pagan lands in Philly, where exactly is Bourn's market even at? Would SF be willing to cough up that much money for him? Don't know but he sure would look good in CF at their ballpark.

He won't get $100 mil, the market isn't there for it. I bet the only reason we're getting in on this is because his price tag has come down into Hoyer's comfort zone.

He's a solid player and I'd love to add him for the right price.

Either the market is dry for him, and that's when our FO scoops up and gets him, or we don't get him at all. All offseason they've talked about value, and undervalued assets. At this point I just hope he's undervalued cause I would love to add a guy like him on a 5 year contract. This FO is not Hendry, they will spend, but they will not overspend desperately.

stay away from bourne, we signed soriano going into his 30's coming off a 40+SB season and look how that turned out for us. id much rather go for hamilton on something around 5 years 100-120 million with no no-trade clause all we need is a good season or two from him and then cash him in for more specs. we have the extra cash right now

looking at uptons contract bourne is probaly looking to sign for at least 5 years 60mil. im hoping with the price dropping we can sign hamiton for even cheaper than i mentioned in my last post

I wonder how Bourn's value is compared to Upton? If Upton got 5/75, then would Bourn expect something higher than that or just around the same?

Obviously Boras is looking for more than 100MM, but Bowden has him at 5/75 so its probably somewhere in that range.
