Pedro, as of now, who would be the Red Sox's starting 1B?

Haha yeahhh, that's not gonna happen. He's a DH now. He's too old to play the field.

I think they're planning on Napoli playing 1B.

He's an okay first baseman I guess. He played it for the Angels when Morales went down.

Do you think the Red Sox would do a straight-up Trumbo for Ellsbury trade?

I don't know. I doubt it. I don't know much about Trumbo but most of the guys in the Sox Forum don't like him.

Probably because of his low OBP. He's not great. But he's a solid power hitter that would probably hit 40+ HR's in Fenway. Ellsbury only has 1 year left on his contract and he's as good as gone so it would probably benefit the Sox more than most believe. I'd love to have Ellsbury on the Angels

I just looked at his numbers and yeah...definitely the low OBP.

And they just signed Victorino to play RF.

    Edit-

I just looked at Fangraphs and see that Trumbo played 1B before they signed Pujols. He was a good fielder there but he's obviously out of place playing the OF.

That's why I brought it up. Trumbo's really a first baseman. That would make Napoli the catcher, Trumbo the first baseman, Papi the DH and Victorino the RF'er.

    Gotcha.

The Sox still have Salty and Lavarnway. And they signed David Ross. So they have 3 catchers already. Though the majority believes Salty will be traded. I know Napoli wants to catch but the Sox signed him to play 1st.

I really have no idea what the Sox' plans are but it's fun to watch. I just hope they put a competitive team on the field in 2013.
