    Medium Cost, Potential High Reward. Lin brings in a decent market and anything he does on the court is just the cherry on top. If Lin turns out great, awesome... if not, we didn't spend THAT much on him and he is good for our market.

    Plus he is young and works his *** off. Only good things to come, I hope.

    As others have said, only good can come from this if he continues to develop.

    I only sorta wish he got 1 good year in with Jason Kidd mentoring him, that would have been invaluable to his growth.

    Even if Lin fails miserably, the Harden acquisition and Asik deal seem to be homeruns. No way will Morey get fired just because of Lin. It will have to be a lot more than that.

    I agree, pretty big decision to give Lin all that money. If it fails, its hard to see him staying on board.

    I think Leslie Alexander wanted Lin as much or more than Morey, mostly for the financial gain he could get from the "international sensation"

    no racist but I haven't seen so many Asians at Rockets games since Yao was in his prime

    Lins marketablilty will pay off. He will have a run or 2 of dramatic games and good shooting which will bring back the Linsanity for a short time. He might not have been the smartest option as far as skill set, but I think his marketability will more than pay his contract.

    He's doing what Yao did for the Rockets just in a smaller scale as of right now. When Yao was here, he was the first dominant Asian player. Before Yao there were others and after him there will be more. However, Lin was born in America and may not relate as well with the Asian population as Yao did. Sadly he and Harden will probably be on the All Star team with inflated Chinese voting, yet again.
