    Braves Dbacks in Trade talks...

#Dbacks want Andrelton Simmons from #Braves in Justin Upton talks. This is why Justin Upton has not joined BJ in Atlanta -- yet.

    From fox.com's Jon Morosi's twitter.

I refuse to trade Simmons, but I think something will be worked out. Arizona is going to trade him and we want him- perhaps the most of anyone- plus we have a ton of top talent as much as anyone.

    UGH! Stop playing hardball, Arizona.

Someone get me in that negotiating room. When I'm done, they believe Pastornicky is the next Dustin Pedroia.

We're not trading Simmons so I wouldn't worry about that. Nick Ahmed+Mike Minor/Delgado with a low level throw-in or 2 and we're good.

I know AZ wants a SS bad, but if they receive enough talent, they could easily trade for one. They need to examine the overall quality of prospects they'd receive and realistically determine if any other team would match it. Holding out for one position seems foolish.

If we could get them to take Ahmed it would be awesome!

I'll probably lose all respect for Wren if he gives up Andrelton in this deal. He ticked me off with the sloppiness of that Dempster-Cubs fiasco, but has rebounded nicely since then. Giving up our stud SS would undo much of that. All indications are that Ahmed could be a future stud, FW needs to step up his sales pitch or step aside.

How was Wren to blame for the Dempster deal? Epstein shouldn't have agreed without consulting the player he was trading considering said player could block it.

I thought it was a bad deal, anyway. Glad Dempster vetoed it.

I blame Wren for even accepting to trade Delgado for half a year or Dempster.

^That (because Delgado should have never been on the table) and allowing the organization to twist in the wind in public for days like he did, over a guy who wasn't as good of an investment as his numbers had many believing.

The assumption was that Dempster would sign an extension. While I still wouldn't like the move, Wren wasn't banking on just half a season of Dempster.

I honestly think this is going to happen without us having to give up Simba.

If Simmons is dealt, who replaces him? Rev can't cut it. Janish can't hit, but can field well. I have no idea what FA SSs are available.
