Well I've very relieved that this deal happened. Not that I thought Wright was leaving town anytime soon, but with the Mets you never know until the deal is inked. It's a great deal for both sides and David Wright will end up going down as perhaps the best Met of all time now. Hopefully we can get RA under contract and keep developing the young guns until things turn around for the organization.

i think he is more than a receptionist, fact is he had many job offers from around baseball when he was fired. He obviously has talents that help an organization, you can say he is not a good fit to be a GM and that is fair, but he did many other things well even as a GM that helped this team and again all I have to say is look t the Mets staff right now and you will see that all 5 guys were brought in by Minaya, their best reliever is a Minaya guy as well.
Just heard Mets and Wright reach 8 year 138 million dollar contract.
Vey good news in a rather bleak offseason.

Not a coincidence in the slightest that David Wright got $500k more than Johan Santana did to become the highest paid Met of all time.
Is only fair IMO.
Great news. Met for life, just like he should be.
Terry is going to ask Wright to be the official captain of the team.
Worth every penny.
