Odd decade, the 80's. Lot of good music to be found, but you've got to look for it.

True dat. But if for nothing else, it makes no sense to call
the 80s anything but glorious on a RAIDERS board.
If it weren't for the 80s for the Raiders, we wouldn't even
be here. They'd be a dead franchise, an asterisk in
NFL history. And that is NOT to trash the history of the
Raiders pre-80s, but all the mystique, the move to LA,
the TWO Superbowls won in the 80s, are why we are still
here today, still hoping to enjoy a revival of that greatness
and excellence, and basking in the black and silver glow
of the image that was burned into the minds of several
generations of NFL fans because of the 80s Raiders.

To that end I'd say: THE 80s ARE DEAD! LONG LIVE THE 80s!!!

How do I get a sig file in the first place? My user CP doesn't have an "add sig" that I can find. Does that come after a certain amount of posts or something? Or I need to ask someone?

Great "Daily Song" today BG. In the past couple of years, I spent a lot of time driving between Kentucky and New Orleans, which of course took me through the piney woods of Mississippi, sometimes at 3 or 4 in the morning. One night that song shuffled up on my iPod when I was out there driving in those deep dark piney woods, and it gave me goosebumps. Kurt's voice with that song... wow. It gets me every time.

Transfer? Where to? Does UCR still use the trimester system?

Talking about Roubidoux (sp?) really made me smile too. I remember climbing Mt. Roubidoux up to the cross one Easter morning. 'Used to take our bikes up to the big "C" on Box Springs Mountain and try to ride them down, too. Broke a rib one time doing that. It STILL looks funny.

Is there still a skate park in Rialto?

I just looked up that concert I was talking about with Scorpions and Iron Maiden. It was called "Summer Strut". I guess it was actually 1982, not '83. Jeez. Ancient history!

Nothing very odd about the 80s at all IMO,The silly streotypes in movies like the wedding singer and such were just as ridiculous to us THEN as they are now.

No one dressed like Michael Jackson in that re leather get up, no one dressed like boy George(ok, a few people did, but we laughed at them to)

There is nothing very divergent from 90s alt rock compared to the 80s post punk scene, I dont pay attention to 'image"

Nirvana is probably the most overrated band in history, Foo fighters is a far more inventive and technically superior in their song writing, Just as New Order was far better then Joy division.
The Mo-town sound from the 60s is priceless,

I like the Foo Fighters but I still prefer Nirvana over them. Nirvana was different. I don't think they are the least bit overrated. But that's just my opinion. To each their own.
