The 80s were a great time for music. And it wasn't all just Pet Shop Boys, Salt 'N' Pepa and Frankie Goes To Hollywood either. In SoCal, it was incredible for punk, metal, and all points in between. Gazzarri's! The Rainbow! MAN that was fun!

First live concert I ever went to? TRIUMPH. At the Orange Show grounds. True story. *laughing and laughing*

This is what I have always loved about Cali people, and esp. SoCal surf/skate/music culture. People would be SO musically literate and love ALL kinds of music, truly. I would love being at a show like "X" and hear people discussing all kinds of music in one conversation, from Flatt&Scruggs to Dark Angel and all points in between. Love it, love it, love it!!!

    Cassette/VHS stuff:

This Cinci band doesn't exist any more, and it's too darned bad:

There used to be this indoor skatepark in Riverside with these
big see-thru ramps. Can't recall the name of it at all. But I can
remember skating out there when this came out:

Bet a few of you have got drunk to this song:
    http://youtu.be/Nr8W_EBefgE

Alltime greatest lyrics of the 80s:
I WENT TO YOUR SCHOOLS, I WENT TO YOUR CHURCHES, I WENT TO YOUR INSTITUTIONAL LEARNING FACILITIES AND YOU CALL *ME* CRAZY?!? I'M NOT CRAZY, YOU'RE CRAZY! ALL I WANTED WAS A PEPSI, AND SHE WOULDN'T GIVE IT TO ME! JUST ONE PEPSI!!!...

    Sad songs?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMznNlfLXP4

This song, and Eva Cassidy's story in general are rather heartbreaking. But you know...sad songs say so much.
