I think this is more realistic than you all are willing to admit. Truth be told, Smith is a better fit for our system than Palmer. Short, decisive patterns where accuracy is crucial fits Smith to a tee. Smith is also capable of using his legs, and Palmer is not. If we're going to legitimately use bootlegs, having a QB you can almost be positive is not going to take off running is not an option. I would give it some consideration.

I think Steph is right palmer is a descent qb but not right for this offense and Smith would be cheaper and better fit to run this offense. maybe if we can find a descent rb that wont always be hurt and with smith as our qb i think this would be a pretty good offense. defense needs a lot of help though lol

I think we did this at one point if Im not mistaken, and just to be upfront i kinda hate these hypotheticals, but Im wondering what the nation thinks.

Carson was my guy.But hes not a WCO QB, hes 13 million in cap sapce.
Smith is a 8 million dollar hit that SF doesnt need to carry, they can trade him for a low pick AND use his $ to restock this offseason.

Smith is 26-1 in his last 27 starts.
Hes not the kind Of QB I like , but maybe he is just what RM is looking for.
