Josh Hamilton Offer from the Orioles

Outside of the Rays, and that is if they dont trade "Big Game James", nobody's pitching is going to be that strong. CC is a work horse but how much longer can he keep it up without Tommy John. Bostons pitching does not scare anyone, outside of maybe Lester when he feels like playing. Toronto is not going to win that many more games with Josh Johnson, he will be lucky to start 20 games with his arm troubles. So, if the O's get another quality year from Hammel, Chen, Gonzalez and if Tillman progresses even more, they could have a decent staff. Then they will have Bundy and Gausman fighting for a spot soon after the season starts. I dont think anybody would say they have great pitching but I think it can finally compete in the East and possible win the East in 2013.

Also they added Buehrle and Morrow is more of a sure bet than any orioles starter. And I still think the yankees and Rays are better than both teams. So easy on the homerism

They'd be better off spending the money on Greinke. They'd probably have to over pay him a little but it would go a long way toward making them a WS contender

Kuroda and Pettitte are both up there in age, not taking anything away from Pettitte as he has been as consistant in the American league East as any pitcher I can remember in a long time but age is going to become a factor very soon. I just dont see them holding up all year, IMO.

And, the Orioles bullpen, I believe, was ranked 3rd in the AL in a hitter freindly park. They were like 29-9 in one run games, something like that.

Im not saying Josh Hamilton is the second coming, but IMO he would have a bigger impact for the O's than Josh Johnson and the rest of the Marlins are going to have for the Blue Jays. Although, I am excited to see what Jose Reyes is going to do in the AL. We know what Buehrle will do, he pretty consistant, and who knows what Morrow you will get? It is going to be another exciting year for the East, I feel like this could be the most balance the AL East has ever been.

Difference is, we won how many games this past year? How many did the Blue Jays win? Adding Hamilton to an already playoff caliber team is pretty big.

And there is just as much likelyhood that they could still be very good because we will have the same key pieces and likely add a good arm or two back there. On top of that, our rotation was awful until the 2nd half. We had one of the better rotation I know for a fact down the stretch, unsure how they ranked the entire 2nd half but I know it was solid. Add Gausman or Bundy to that...our rotation looks pretty damn nice.

I have a feeling Hammel was pretty lucky this year. Chen is just average. Tillman is solid. If Bundy is the next big ace and Britton performs to his potential than you will have a good rotation but i dont see that happening this year.

I think the pitching is going to get better, especially if Chen, Britton, Tillman and Matusz continue to progress. Then Bundy and Gausman to round out the rotation, it could be very interesting, I hope they prove everybody wrong about being a fluke.

Also, I think Reynolds will be gone and they trade for a 1B like Eric Hosmer or something from KC. KC wants young arms and the O's have a few to throw there way.
