Sosa on Hall of Fame Ballot - Discuss

    Thoughts?

    What's your favorite Sosa memory?

OK Nick, you see that over there? That's what used to be of our playoff chances.

My name is Mark Sanchez. I am here to screw you over.

He had a pretty slick haircut for a while. I've got the related baseball card somewhere at home. I'll post it later tonight.

    EDIT: 1993 Studio.

Favorite Sosa memory is him pulling out the American flag on a homer he hit the day after 9/11

My favorite memory hasn't happened yet. It's GOING to be when he's elected a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

I remember one hop at the tail end of his career where it didn't leave the park and he tried to leg out a double but was thrown out at 2B...

For the most part though, I loved Sammy and he was the only reason to watch the Cubs for a long time.

I used to be somewhat disillusioned by the steroids, but the more info that got leaked it seemed like the bulk of the league was doing it. You'd figure somewhere in the neighborhood of 16% (~120 of 750 mlb players) of the league was actually caught using banned substances. You'd figure with other players in between cycles and players with good masking agents, and I'm sure there were players that tried for a bit I figure at least half the league would have been doing something.

I'm almost more upset that there weren't more players juicing. Imagine if Grace did it instead of smoking, drinking and partying until the wee hours of the morning.
