Asik is the best player released but he wasn't the worst decision. His release was a great decision. Korver is the worst (best?) combination of player and decision in my opinion, however, in the scheme of things, it's not a big deal. None of the bench releases were. You're simply not going to go into the tax any further than necessary for neither a broken season nor paying role players for that broken season.

The Bulls' lack of cap space just completely handcuffed them. There's no way around it.

I still think the Asik contract could have actually been really valuable to the team. Everyone is looking for ways to add a star. A $15 mil expiring contract could have helped with that.

I've got to go with either Ronnie Brewer or CJ Watson all because I think the Bulls will be eating an injury at the two spot and Korver is horrible defensively at that spot.

I would take CJ over Kirk as a more durable choice for the two spot (particularly in a season without Rose). The downside to CJ is that he just isn't the type of PG to play within Thibs system.

As a role player behind Rip, he wouldn't have to.

Maybe I'm just not remembering things too well, but I think the Rose/Watson back court was more effective than the Rose/Kirk back court.

But Kirk is worthless on offense, Cj was at least a threat and he was clutch last year when Derrick was out.

Exactly. And Kirk defense is overrated. CJ could drop 30 points. Hinrich can barely score 10.

Watson has scored 30 or more points 3 times in his career.
