    Care to speculate on terms? Upton is a good player but has flaws in his game..

    @Ken_Rosenthal

    B.J. Upton and #Braves are in agreement, pending physical. Terms of contract not yet known.

    4/60 would be a nice deal for the Braves IMO, but I guess he got at least 5 years + maybe an option.

    Braves would be nuts to give him 4/60... 4/40 seems more reasonable to me....

    where would Upton hit in the lineup?
    the Braves had Bourn in CF last season and batting leadoff. would the Braves use Upton at leadoff? and would that really be wise?
    Upton's OBP each of the last 4 seasons - .298/ .331/ .322/ .313/
    Upton's AVG each of the last 4 seasons - .246/ .243/ .237/ .241/

    I guess it's going to depend on money, but I would rather have Bourn if you're looking for a leadoff hitter.

    could someone else like Martin Prado be better used at leadoff?
    Prado's OBP in each of last 4 years - .359/ .302/ .350/ .358/

    Gonna be a big overpay to get him to sign this early IMO.

    I think 4/60 is an overpayment if it ends up being that.

    I'm guessing 5/80

    Edit:

    The #Braves accelerated the negotiations this morning to get deal done with Upton, believed to be for five years. Great fit.
