Blatche and the salary cap next season?

With the Amnesty clause that Washington is on the hook for, can we keep paying Blatche the minimum and they pay the rest of the salary from his original contract for the next two seasons of his original contract? If that is the case then we don't have to worry about another team outbidding us for him since the money he keeps overall will be the same (nobody is going above Washington's contract with him).

We have to sign him to a new contract after this season if we want him.

The nets did not claimed him through Amnesty waivers. This means that even though Washington is paying him his old contract, he's still a free agent. The nets dont have his bird's rights, so they can either offer him the veteran's minimum or waste the Midlevel exception on him.

If he plays well the nets will have to decide weather he's worth the midlevel exception or if they rather sign someone else. If he doesnt play that well then no team will offer him more than the veteran's minumum and he'll be back with the nets.

The same goes for CJ Watson. I was very surprise nobody offered him more.

Blatche is such a huge part of our success of our bench scoring. The Nets must retain Blatche and Evans. We haven't seen rebounding and toughness in the front court like this ever!

You know when we first got Blatche I was under the impression that he was a fool...team cancer...not smart.

Listening to the interviews after the games with Blatche, I actually really like him. Comes off really well spoken seems like a cool dude.

Unlike Gerald Green's situation, he is still getting paid from the Wizards for the next few seasons. Unless some team gives him a crazy offer, I'm sure he'd stay for an additional season #longlivethebenchmob

Blatche is playing great but he is averagins 2.1 bonehead plays per game. If he can cut down on those and keeps up the scoring I definitely want us to keep him.
