Favorite Indie Bands At The Moment

For me indie is something that is a different sound than the crap we hear on the radio today. Also with instruments becoming equivalent, if not more important than just vocals. I guess the popularity plays along with it as well, some people say foster the people and mgmt are considered big now, but outside a few songs for both of them, no one really knows a lot of their other stuff. Pumped up kicks isn't anywhere near FTP best song to btw. I've become annoyed with that song.

I saw those guys and they played nothing but feedback for at 25 mins while art majors stood stoic and still scratching their chins. My highlight came after when the base player wound up giving me direction to the path- he was a funny guy

Sounds like you ironically enjoyed them. It's really the only way to enjoy them.

No. I hated it. Nothing but distortion and feedback

I saw Radiohead once. Nothing but bleeps and bops. I hated it (ironically).

    I love you.

I'm big into Of Monsters and Men. Something with a soft chick's voice gets me into the music.

I actually never saw them but i see what your saying. I liked a lot of songs from them and liked Kid A but it got too atmospheric or something for me at some point

I wouldn't consider the Strokes to be indie. I know wikipedia lists them as Indie, but that's wikipedia for you. Their last album might have been, but "Is This It" "Room on Fire" and "First Impressions" are not Indie by any stretch. I would consider them pop before I considered them Indie

Arcade Fire is the best indie band and best band of all time, period.
