I don't think it's too early to evaluate the draft class, but it's hard to tell where the C's will be picking in next years draft this early in the year and there's no telling where a lot of the players draft stock will sit until june. That being said I like the idea of this thread.

Arkansas' MarShawn Powell has a nice inside / outside game. But at 6'7" 240 lbs he would be a redundant talent for the C's.

SI: Statistics suggest Joel Embiid will fully recover from foot surgery. But it could be 9-12 months before he plays http://bit.ly/1qwZuIB
Mitch McGary of the University of Michigan. 6'10" and 250 lbs as a freshman. And extremely athletic. Needs a little seasoning but ... WOW.... this is the type of big the Celtics need.

I like some of the things I've seen out of Le'Bryan Nash, I know he's doesn't necessarily fit a need for this team, but I usually prefer taking the best player available over need, not saying he will be the best player available when we pick.

Here's a sleeper ... 7'1" DaShonta Riley.... I think I have that spelling right... of EMU.
Could be a solid second round pick. Blocks shots. Defends... okay. Can't teach size so they say and this kid has a lot of it.
Originally signed with Syracuse.

Looking at the mocks right now, I think the small-ball fad will be coming to an end soon
I hope someone good falls to us in the bonanza

Whats the consensus opinion on this years draft? Deep?
Lots of smallish point guards in this draft.
As a PF, I think Patric Young of Florida might be one to keep an eye on. He needs to develop more consistency but he shows a lot of promise.

Just back from DaVille!
What a game today... Lots of future NBA players on the court in this one.
Kentucky:
Cauley-Stein is an incredibly fluid 7'0" kid. Rebounds, blocks shots... couldn't make a foul shot to save his life.
Noel reminds me of Chris Webber as a freshman at Michigan.
Poythress could end up being the best of the bunch, if he stays in school and develops his game.
Wiltjer might find a home in the NBA... shoots very well but has a decent all-round game. Can he defend well enough?
Louisville or DaVille!
Gorgui Dieng is the type of layer missing from the Celtics right now. He is a post player. Knows his place is in the paint. Defends very well, blocks shots, rebounds, plays with energy. No offense past 10 feet but really, who cares?
Russ Smith... might be the fastest basketball player I hae seen in person since Dwight Anderson. If only he were 6'3" or so. Would be a scoring point guard.
Peyton Siva is the point guard and has improved his shot this season.
Smith and Siva together are a defensive force... much like we expect Rondo and Bradley to to be. Not sure I have seen two diminutive guards play this well since Ronnie Stokes and Troy Taylor at Ohio State. Are they big enough to play in the NBA? They are certainly good enough.

I watched UNLV vs UNC tonight....i like Anthony Bennett from UNLV quite a bit.....Don't like Oriakhi...maybe it's the fact im a uconn fan and he transfered? idk I do like Dieng tho and Poythress, Noel, Muhammad, and Zeller will be good pro's. Heard good things from the kid at Lehigh McCollum? He can ball as well
Perfect combos, Ghost bang out condos
Jeff from Hamo, ex three bangos
Bancos, stank hoes in plain clothes
Change those, bang those, same old, same old
After watching Gonzaga for the third time this season I still cannot make up my mindon Kelly Olynyk. He's a 7'0" human twig (235 lbs) but he manages to get the job done. Takes contact and finishes and defends stronger than his frame says he should. Very aggressive. Very agile.

LARRY BIRD

" The greatest basketball player and mind of all time. "
It's shaping up to be an odd draft.
Lots of undersized point guards
There should be more legitimate 7'0"ers than have been available in awhile. Especially with the foreign crop added in.
Then there are even more tweeners than usual.
