Either zero tolerance, like happened with the politics forum and improved it, or make it invisible to non-members, and a free-for-all, wild west style.

But, of course, no one is looking for any actual ways this could be done, because "No" is so much easier.

The internet is really the last place for serious discussion as it is, let's not put religion on it. If you want to see the quality of debate that you'd get, go check out /r/atheism. That is about the level of discourse the religion forum had last time. It was hardcore fundamentalists vs Dawkins-Atheists. Any normal person who had faith (or no faith) was quickly repulsed by that forum.

People always felt like they were being picked on even when they weren't. The other part was of course all the borderline insults. fun times.

It simply doesn't work. Internet forums are full of young people, many of which believe science is the truth over anything. It starts nothing but fights, and any forum that will basically pin belief versus so called facts will result in trouble.

No way it will be allowed. We went out of our way to get rid of religious discussion here, even though I find it ridiculous that so many are anti-religous.

Maybe I find it ridiculous that so many are pro religious.
