why not?? the guy can get to the QB.. wide9, 3-4, or 4-3, if a guy has as much athleticism as he does, he can play any scheme...right now, we need two thing on D, some safeties and a pass-rush....he can give us the pass-rush which in result would help the secoundary..cut his *** after the year if you want

I'd rather sign a present day Sean Taylor to play DE than Babin.

Guy doesn't fit the 3-4, AT ALL. Haven't we had enough of bringing in 4-3 players to play 3-4, only to watch them fail? He's had really one standout season which was last year at the age of 31.

Says all I need to know.

    NO.
Who are all these 4-3 guys we brought in that have failed in the 3-4?

I was thinking the same thing. Cofield maybe? i duno. But "all these" is a bit of an over statement

If he clears waivers and is very cheap...I'd give him a look, check his attitude and if that was right, I'd sign him for the rest of the year for the low to be a pass rushing specialist in nickel situations. We haven't gotten pressure on the QB all year and I think he could help with that as a specialist.

Cofield, Kerrigan, Carriker and Orakpo all come from a 4-3 scheme. Obviously Carriker and Orakpo are out and Rob Jackson/Lorenzo Alexander haven't done a good enough job of getting to the QB...

Our secondary is awful, no one is available to change that, so why not take a flyer on someone that could help us over these next 5 games?

…The Redskins claimed linebacker Bryan Kehl off waivers Wednesday and also lost out on defensive end Jason Babin. They put in a claim for the former Eagles pass rusher, but so did Jacksonville and it had a worse record and thereby won his rights. Babin had spent more time as a 4-3 end and likely would have been a situational rusher in Washington. Babin is not considered good vs. the run or in coverage, especially in a 3-4. However, the Redskins’ nickel packages resemble a 4-3 front and they could have used him in that situation.
