Outfield is Mets' priority at winter meetings

I don't want the Dodgers package. Lee is a great prospect, but we need hitters, not pitching. The Texas package, Royals (Myers), Blue Jays or even the Red Sox all matchup better with us. Let's hope we make the right choice in the end

Actually, after reading up, a package of Olt, Martin and a lesser prospect would do it for me. Martin looks like he can be pretty darn good, and Olt can be a big time power hitter

Why are the Royals interested in a 38 year old knuckleballer? What is their end-game in seeking an ace with just a few years left? They don't have enough to seriously compete even with RA. So why send a young prospect for him?

I guess they plan to win within the next 5 years.'

My bad. I must have been sleeping when the Royals got decent again. Didn't even realize.

It does seem odd that they would entertain the thought of making the playoffs, but they have made progress.

Olt has played all of 3 minor league games in the outfield, and in his 8 major league innings in the outfield, he has had 4 chances and muffed 1 of them. I don't think I want to consider Olt as an outfielder. Additionally, I am skeptical about Martin Perez.

The package I want from Texas, as of now, is Leonys Martin, Cody Buckel and Luis Sardinas or Lewis Brinson.
