    Big Bens status

It's wait-and-see week. While the Steelers seem poised for another game with Batch at the helm, Roethlisberger will test his arm and the attached parts, gauge the progress with the Steelers staff and go from there. Days after the injury, he expressed concern that his unique injury posed the risk of dire consequences, with the possibility of a his rib piercing the aorta.

That concern has apparently passed, with Roethlisberger eyeing his return. The key now is whether he can withstand pain and regain functionality as an NFL quarterback.

Looks like the risk of fatal injury is gone just can he deal with the pain now.

I don't think anyone here thinks we can win without him, so I don't have to mention how bad I want him back. Even though I just did

A source tells ESPN's Ed Werder that Ben Roethlisberger (ribs, shoulder) is 50-50 to start Sunday's game against the Ravens.

I guess I'll take those odds and ray:

As long as he's capable of playing. Come back if you are ready and have the arm strength, and your ribs are 100% healthy. That's scary. Poor Ben.

We need him desperately, but at what cost? His career? Sure a career ending hit is always at stake playing Football, it's a gladiator sport, anyone knows that ****, if you have suited up before.

If Benjamin can go, and the Staff/ Doctors and what not, say he's ready, than you play him.

I don't want him playing until he's fully healed.

This. If it's 50-50 at this point, I'm not sure I want to parade him out there against the Ravens. We'll see how things go during the week, but if he's anywhere less than, say, 80%, I'd rather give him another week.

We know our chances of winning without Roethlisberger are low, but we also know that an injured Roethlisberger makes a lot of mistakes.

^ Yeah. It wouldn't make sense to risk his health. Plain and simple

I think we can. With good special teams play and proper ball control we would have won the last two games. No reason to think this one wont be the same. Now if your telling me we don't have those well then there is no chance without Ben and even with him the chance will be small.
