    Why?
We already have Turner; Duda, and V-Spin as backup infielder depth, this made no sense.

The OPS was pretty good from the SS and 2nd in Sacramento at .856 (but PCL numbers nonetheless) and 18 homers in 90 games certainly shows he has power.

A lot of strikeouts though 115 in 383 PA.

He is 27 years old too.

    Meh..

    SS/3B

He will likely be the guy that replaces Cedeno.

The Mets waste no time in countering the Evan Longoria deal.

Or was it the other way around????

They have no back up SS since Cedeno is gone.

It could be a good signing, he has some pop.

PCL or not, 18 homers in 90 games is pretty impressive.

He is a guy that has posted a line of .133/.204/.289/.493 in almost 100 at bats in the pros, not much too get too excited about here except that he has some pop.

True but these are the type of deals we are looking forward to this offseason

LOL at adding him to your sig already.

You'll run out room with all these useless players by the middle of December the way its going.

NEW YORK -- The Mets continued their string of minor moves on Monday, acquiring infielder Brandon Hicks from the A's in exchange for cash considerations.

Hicks, 27, hit .172 with three home runs in 22 games for the A's last season, appearing primarily as a shortstop. Hicks also appeared in the big leagues with the Braves in 2010 and '11, and boasts experience at all four infield positions. Spending most of last season at Triple-A Sacramento, he batted .244 with 18 home runs in 328 at-bats there.

He will give the Mets a measure of infield depth with last year's primary backup shortstop, Ronny Cedeno, seeking a starting job elsewhere. Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy should return next season as the starting shortstop and second baseman, respectively, but Justin Turner is the only other player on the 40-man roster who owns both middle-infield experience and a Major League resume.

Atlanta's third-round Draft pick in 2007, Hicks is a career .241 hitter with a .766 OPS over six Minor League seasons.
