Joey Votto - $22.5 million
Adrian Gonzalez - $22.0
Matt Cain - $21.25
Ryan Braun - $21.0
Carl Crawford - $20.285
Tim Lincecum - $20.25
Roy Halladay - $20.0
Matt Kemp - $20.0
Jose Reyes - $17.66
Matt Holliday - $17.14
Where do you think David fits in this range. Is he worth Ryan Braun money? Matt Kemp? Jose Reyes?
It certainly looks to me that about $18 million a year would be fair. But he'll be 37 by the end of a 7 year deal, and I find it hard to make a case that he'd be worth $18 million at that age. The years might be the deal breaker.

Yeah i mean like YS said if Zimmerman got a 6 yr 100 million dollar extension, Wright is certainly worth that older or not.
Zimmerman can't even field the position anymore with his inability to throw to 1st base effectively.

True but the Mets are offering Wright the better deal in line with that extension Zimmerman and Longoria got.
The organization also needs to factor in Wright's age in comparison to the other two.
I think what the Mets are reportedly offering is completely fair, it's just a matter of what Wright does next.
