I actually thought he'd listen to Ettore Messina. One of the reasons I've wanted him since Mitchell got fired.
Bargnani actually really liked him. That was a big reason why BC considered him. I wonder what might have been if we hired him over Triano.

He needs to go.
I feel sorry for the next GM.
The team is locked up with a lot of bad contracts.
A.Bargnani $10,000,000 $10,750,000 $11,500,000
D.Derozan $3,344,250 $9,500,000 $9,500,000 $9,500,000 $9,500,000
A.Johnson $6,000,000 $6,500,000 $7,000,000
L.Fields $6,250,000 $6,250,000 $6,250,000
L.Kleiza $4,600,000 4,600,000
Our only big expiring is Calderon at $10,561,982
That leaves us with no room to improve the team next season.
Exactly what I was thinking.
If we can get an expiring for Bargs, Amnesty Amir then we are looking in a little better shape.
Kleiza only has one year left after this season so no point wasting the amnesty on him.
I still have some faith in Derozan
We are likely stuck with Fields for another 2 years after this season.
He got rid of Hedo. He could probably find a deal or 2 for some of these contracts.
don't let BC do any other move. Let BC go and hire somebody else to start rebuilding. BC had his chances and he mostly failed.
Champs will be champs...
With amnesty there can be some space available, but Colangelo has lots of work to do to figure out what he wants to do with all of these contracts.

While Colangelo certainly deserves part of the blame, i'd place some of the blame in the higher ups as well.
Me thinks there probably is some pressure from his bosses to make the post season ASAP regardless of the cost.
