how were they bashing him? they were defending him all game, just like kurt warner, deion sanders, and many others have been doing.

flat out, smith deserves to start. not only is he a better option RIGHT NOW at qb, he's earned the right to finish this season.

I have a feeling in the playoffs, this QB switch is going to come back and haunt Harbaugh. Many former players and fans of OTHER teams are going to be saying "that's what the 49ers get"

Although I have bashed Alex plenty over the years and I COULD NOT WAIT FOR KAP TO START! I feel smith should b finishing out this season. He's played great and done nothing wrong accept b a true leader and teammate. Kaps time is next year and I'm fine with that. Smith needs to start

Anyone seem to notice how helpless Alex Smith looked on the sidelines today? Had his helmet on, stood by himself, barely talked. Usually QBs for are in it for the team are out there cheering their teammates to victory. I for one lost a ton of respect for Alex today. Yep. Fox was trying to push the story so bad. Seemed like they brought it up at every turn. Showing shots of him with his helmet on. Like you said, it's to hear the plays. CK did the same thing. They seemed to cut away quickly whenever Alex was helping CK or smiling. BS really

They pretty much were bashing him by putting him out there for viewers and media to ponder over during the game. It was really uncalled for, you don't have to bring up Alex Smith between every snap and pan over his reactions about how CK is doing, things like that don't help the fans who have attachment problems now.

Smith will be ok. For some fans he's all they know and they want him to succeed. I love the guy and how he's kept his head up but change excites me. Especially change addressed for the sake of a title. It's been many years since I watched Montana, then Young be great representing our franchise, I am more than excited to witness the possibility of a new great QB rising from the Red and Gold and shaping history!
