I think the Twins org. messed up everything here, aside from the arguments in the time and place that Humber wasn't ready (He was ready for MLB action in 08; memory serves he was a year or removed from TJ).
But Gomez, in turn, should've never been been put in the bigs right off the bat in 08, and they sent Guerra to high A ball a year early that same season too, memory serving. Even Mulvey was pitching at the AA level one year removed from having been drafted as a 2nd rd pick in 07 (In NY's system, and just prior to the trade), I think, and you NEVER do that (Rule #1 for any of you here to be hired by a MLB or amateur level org in mgmt-it NEVER works, aside from the top 10-15 picks, and even THERE you're on dangerous ground, generally, from the standpoint of development).
All things said, there's your two earnest questions in the end when it comes to making any future deals with the Mets (Albeit aware they may be under both new ownership and front office mgmt since the time of the 07/08 trade)-
A)Are they still rushing their prospects through the system too fast today as they've generally done the past decades, or not, and if so-
B)In lieu of those overwhelming pressures on the development of a single player, can these names "Rebound" if/when remaining at their current level across all projections for next season mentally, generally (Amongst any/all proposals, prospects of interest).
The raw talent, however, in and of itself, wouldn't be of any concern to me across that of a single org, to be perfectly honest, Steve.
As for the prospects the original poster listed, I don't know anything about them, and didn't look them up, to be honest. Given MN's long term org. wide depth needs, though, I've never made it a secret that I'd be for ANY/ALL trades JUST LIKE THIS the past year-in merit, at least.
The Twins need a lot of help/talent from Ft. Myers up-best talent available always here, of course, but the arms especially, and a lot of players at that.
