    Giancarlo Stanton

Giancarlo Stanton has come out publicly bashing the trade Miami made with Toronto last week that sent premier players to the Blue Jays for young talent. He is upset with the culture of the organization and the direction they're headed. Should the Dodgers make another call to the Marlins about a franchise player of theirs? Stanton's talent is undeniable and few can match his power. If I were the Dodgers, I'd offer Ethier, Dee Gordon and a pitching prospect or 2. Thoughts?

    Giancarlo Stanton

Won't happen. They are dumping salary - Ethier is owed far to much.

Stanton has a 100X better chance of being traded than Trout, Stanton wants out and Miami can't pay him in a few years, so he won't be traded until at best next offseason, but I'd offer the farm for him, Gordon + Lee + Reed + everybody else they want, it's not that realistic though, although Stanton is a local boy

It would be moronic to think Stanton is untouchable in Miami. Hasn't Jeff Loria made it obvious by now that regardless of whose name is on the back of the jersey, he's willing to move them? Look at Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis. Look at Josh Beckett. Look at Hanley Ramirez, Jose Reyes, etc. If we don't at least inquire on what it would take, we are crazy. No one is untouchable in Miami.

even if we had the open OF spot, i don't think we would have enough to get him, at least not compared to what other teams could offer, i think if we do get him it will be when he hits FA 4 years from now.

I kinda wish we would have taken the Marlins salary dump instead of Boston's.

    Dodgers, Lakers, Raiders.
    Fok Jelle Naiers

They`re = contraction of they are
There = used to describe location
Their = pronoun used to describe belonging
Should've = contraction of should have
Should of = makes no sense at all

I kinda like the idea. JJ is a dominant #1 when healthy. Reyes is a playmaker. It really all depends on how much productivity we get from Agon.

Other teams can offer better package than us. It really depends on Marlins' pride at this point. It is either they pay him big money when he hits arb in 2-3 years (?) Or trade him now to get more quality players. Either way, teams know they probably would have to give the Marlins a very good package despite what his performance will be from now on. Stanton could either sabotage the team by not playing well which can lower the money he could get through arb, or he suck it up and play well for his own sake and probably play there until 2017.

The Marlins would probably ask us for Puig.

You trade anyone but Kemp for Stanton. But Miami owns Stanton for a few more years without giving up too much for financially. And Ramirez was traded but was traded 3 years later then he should have been. And Beckett was traded for one of the top prospects in baseball at the time, Hanley Ramirez. Dodgers don't have someone like that in the farm yet, Puig may be. Who knows yet.

Stanton is under team control and is still relatively cheap. There is real no incentive to trade for him (from Miami's perspective), as Miami's other "blockbusters" were primarily based on trying to shed payroll.

    This is a pipe-dream.

The conversation would probably start with Clayton Kershaw.
