Twins looking to deal Josh Willingham for young pitching depth...
Willingham is due 7.5m each of the next 2 years...
Willingham has good OBP skills and good power.

I would deal Granderson for possibly a few decent prospects. And then deal for Willingham.

LF- Ichiro, CF- Gardner, RF- Willingham.
or, not dealing Granderson
LF- Gardner, CF- Grandy, RF- Willingham.


Not sure what prospects it takes to get him, but its worth looking into.

I would also bring in Scott Hairston and bring back Ichiro Suzuki..

Willingham represents very nice value, a guy who has hit 30HR the last 2 seasons making only 7M a year..

The Twins are figuring they can get a nice return. Doubt we would be willing to give what they would ask

I would look to deal Granderson plus prospect(s) for Carlos Santana. I think Santana will be formidable behind the plate until Sanchez is ready, then move Santana to DH.

I doubt that will happen. We need a veteran catcher with some pop like AJ on a 1-yr deal.

Thats also an option, but I'd take Santana as my first choice... Santana has a ton of pop and can get on base.

I like Santana too, I am just not sure the yankees do. He definitely does have pop!

Santana would be a fantastic acquisition for us, but he can't catch for a full season. We'd have to platoon him at catcher, and otherwise put him either at first (blocked) or at DH (could happen). So, maybe get him and sign Shoppach, make Shoppach catch against lefties, and put Santana at DH?

I'd rather just sign AJ and Mark Reynolds, to be honest. Fills more holes, and gives us an everyday catcher. But with that said, I'd be psyched if we got Santana.

I am not high on Mark Reynolds mainly because he either strikes out or hits a HR... and I think we have to get away from that mentality altogether. 3B is probably going to go to either Keppinger or Youkilis or some other mystery guy that Cashman may be targeting.
