Outside of his one good year in 2008 and 2010 he's been garbage.

His 2011 season was just as good as Martin's 2011 and 2012 seasons. His 2012 were abysmal but there's a good chance that his BAbip numbers revert closer to his career norms in 2013. He's going to be a lot cheaper than what Martin signed for and would be a solid option if we are looking for someone to split duties with Romine or whoever. He's a veteran catcher who is average offensively (for a catcher) and slightly above average defensively.

He flat out turned down $4.3 million for one year without much negotiation so I'll guess that he's probably seeking more money and years. We would be looking at 2 years for $12 million for someone who batted under .200.

He's in for a rude awakening if he thinks he'll get an AAV over 5M. He batted under .200 last year but I don't believe that is a true indicative of his talent level. If he can repeat his 2011 numbers (which is a definite fair expectation for him) in 2013 then he would easily replace Martin's production at a lower cost.

I read Ichiro and his agent havent heard from the Yankees in a week. Ichiro's agent is no longer waiting on the Yanks for an offer. Makes me wonder if a trade is brewing?

The ink was not even dry on Mo's contract and Ichiro's agent was *****ing about the Yankees not talking to him.....this is the same agent that said they will wait patiently for the Yankees to finish up signing their higher priorities of pitching first....some patient agent he is...Dec 1 and he is in a state of panic...geez!

Nothing big....you do not understand the $189 million rule.....no long term contracts and that is what consists of something big.

Unless they trade every prospect for the cheaper Stanton and Cashman will not do that....

Expect Romine/Stewart to be catchers and Ichy to be the RF...
