Here is a trade idea to help the Yanks, Trade R Cano, C Granderson, A Romine, D. Phelps to the Arizona Diamondbacks for A Hill, J Upton, M Montero.

If Cashman called with that trade they would laugh in his face.

    1 more year of Cano.

    1 More year of Granderson.

A catcher who has had back problems since high school.

Phelps is a back end of the rotation guy.

Depending on the cost he might be a reasonable get.

It'll be curious to see how this offseason plays out. I don't expect big major moves but just short term filler moves so not much excitement.

The Yankees claimed right-hander Jim Miller off of waivers from the Athletics, the A's announced. The A's had designated Miller for assignment ten days ago.

Miller, 30, appeared in 33 games for Oakland this past season. He posted a 2.59 ERA with 8.1 K.9 and 5.0 BB/9 in 48 2/3 innings.

Put that money into Swisher's account! He should be our RF!

The Yankees announced that they designated Mickey Storey for assignment. They had claimed the right-hander off of waivers from Houston last week.

Storey made 26 relief appearances for the Astros this past season. The 26-year-old posted a 3.86 ERA with 10.1 K/9 and 3.0 BB/9 in 30 1/3 innings at the MLB level. He also spent considerable time at Triple-A in 2012, posting a 3.05 ERA with 10.0 K/9 and 1.9 BB/9 in 65 innings.

Jayson Nix signed a $900,000 major league contract and was DFA. Agreed to accept AAA assignment and come to Yankees camp if he clears waivers.

Yup, let's replace Swisher with a dude who couldn't handle getting on base more than 30% of the time....
