BJ Upton gets 5 years 75 million. Anyone think Swisher will get something near that?

I only like ichiro as a 4th outfielder.
I guess their eye test doesn't see since 2009 when he batted .352, is has been in steady decline down into the .280's, with a nearly identical OBP.
Doesn't walk. Hardly ever. He's a bottom of the order hitter now.
I'd like to know where we are going to get a 2 hole high OBP guy from to replace swisher. Because it isn't Ichiro.
Did I say it HAD to be swisher? No.
Also hughes is a FA after this year.
So next years rotation is CC, Nova, Phelps. As of right now.
I said I'd like to know where the Yankees plan on getting a high OBP guy for the two hole.
Also who know's who will be available via Trade? Phelps could turn into a stud? Pineda COULD although UNLIKELY come back.
It's tough to say. Who knows who might step up between now and then and become a viable replacement on the MLB roster or trade bait. What if Warren or Marshall had a big season? Or Phelps and Nova both had good years? What if Adams tore it up and gave us a viable option to let Cano walk? Or maybe Nunez is great and we can trade him for a pitcher. Plus, we're losing money off the ledger with Mo, Andy, Kuroda, Granderson, etc.
Hafner: 32 Games / 6 HRs / .382 wOBA
Oh you can also add in, What about Granderson? Next year our only actual Outfielder currently will be Gardner.
Cano at 2B? What to do with him? Sign him? Try to trade him now? Will adams be ready?
There's a lot more issues then just the starting rotation or RF.
Its not even funnny how many questions the team has/will have going into the 2014 season.
Basically they will be the in same situation as this offseason, except they won't be able to overpay for vets on one year deals. All these one year deals are fine as a stopgap type deal but they don't really help with the 2014 budget as much as the team likes to keep saying.
If anything I would think the team would want some more actual certainty when going into a strict budget year so that they don't have as many holes to fill. Who knows, maybe that will come in the form of a trade this offseason. But I doubt it.
I like to think the team has a plan on how they plan to do all this and still compete but I sometimes doubt that too.
