"THE TOMAHAWK CHOPPERS"
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more.

I hope we don't get Upton so we can get a trade going with Kansas City for Meyers and Gordan. They are talking with Boston to get Lester for Meyers. If they are really thinking about that then they might like Hanson.
what??
Jon Lester career numbersA Major League source confirmed to WEEI's Rob Bradford that the two teams have indeed discusseda trade that would center around Lester and Myers. According to Bradford, the talks also included the possibility of Boston sending outfield help to Kansas City with some pitching heading back to the Red Sox. He echoes that nothing is close.

Tommy Hanson is under contract for three more years, at a cost that could be around what is owed to Lester for two years. Those two pitchers have very similar career numbers and both of them are coming off down years. If you think Hanson is worth peanuts then i think Lester is worth basically the same. If you read the article he's being discuss as a center piece of a deal to get Myers, so Hanson value is not that low i think.

Upton and Myers without giving up JT would be a very successful off-season in my honest opinion.
Wow.... First I've heard of this. Wonder what happened?•B.J. Upton's interest in the Braves "seemed to soar" following his meeting with GM Frank Wren, manager Fredi Gonzalez and future Hall of Famer Bobby Cox two weeks ago, writes MLB.com's Mark Bowman.

Mark BowmanIf the Braves sign Upton, they would seemingly still have the financial resources necessary to sign Shane Victorino, Angel Pagan or another free-agent outfielder who would be capable of hitting leadoff. With Pagan being a little more expensive and seemingly on track to return to the Giants, Victorino seems to be the more likely option. The Braves will also continue exploring the trade market. There is no doubt that they would be interested if the D-backs do indeed make Justin Upton (B.J.'s younger brother) available via a trade. To get the younger Upton, the Braves would likely have to include either Julio Teheran or Randall Delgado in an attractive trade package.
