Thank god! I respect Monte a ton as a defensive coach but it just wasn't working here.

This seems like a good spot to ask this question. Does any other school have 1 play caller for 1st and 2nd Down and another for 3rd and 4th Down? Illinois does.

I'm conflicted over who I want to take over. Seems like Orgeron is the popular pick because he knows the players and is a great recruiter. I think I'd prefer an outside hire though, just because our defense has been so awful recently

If we're counting DCs, then no. That would be Willie Martinez by a mile. Ted Roof is also an acceptable answer.
