What's wrong with that? We could call one Uptown and one downtown. They would have kind of a sibling rivalry kind of vibe going on out there. Heyward would have to work just to keep up. Plus, he might even have to break the brothers up if the oldest one got the younger in a head lock or something.

I wouldn't say Yuck, I like Fowler. However he is quite a bit down the list for me with the plethora of more talented OF'ers available in FA and allegedly trade this off-season.

The Cult of Gattis
Just not really seeing what Stephen Drew brings to the table. He hasn't hit since, like, 2008.
Why? I still have yet to see a cogent anti-Swisher case. I'm not saying that one doesn't exist; I just haven't seen one.
He was added to the 40-man to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. I'm sure he'll get a shot in spring training to back up Gerald Laird until McCann returns, but I don't think this roster move has anything to do with his chances.

Eh, not much of a rumor...surely nothing we haven't already heard already.
I wonder if it's time to bring up Mr. Paul Bunyan to play C???

Love the Upton signing.
@Ken_Rosenthal
#Braves, who still need leadoff hitter, had discussed idea of signing Upton AND trading for Span. But talks with #Twins failed to progress.
Gattis is in an interesting situation. He is 26, so you would like him in the majors. With so much time away from the game, you can also assume he still needs time to develop. If this article is correct and ATL is enamored with him, I have a hard time seeing them blocking his path over the next year or two. Someone suggested Youlilis at 3B to platoon with Juan - while not optimal, this would not block Gattis if ATL wishes to go that route.
We shall see......
Look at Matt Kemp's numbers before he blew up.
2010- .249/.310/.450.. 28 homers 89 rbi's 170 k's
2011- .324/.399/.586 39 homers 126 rbi's 159 'ks
its not uncommon for a players to turn it around completely after a down year.
I think with our hitting coaches, lineup, and management, that we can turn him in the right direction.
The Youkilis deal would not be a bad idea if for the right money. Play him against LHP and JF against RHP. That would be a nasty platoon. I could see 35 + homers out of that platoon. Just my thoughts. It would also give us that clubhouse guy/leader that we lost in Chipper, Ross and Hinske.
