    Another Insanity Workout Journal

Ok, so I asked the question a few weeks ago...Insanity or P90X? I went with Insanity. I meant to start this thread last week, but just didn't get to it. I am two weeks into Insanity and I am feeling good about it so far.

My starting height and weight was 6'2" and 215 and I am 18.
My first fitness test numbers are as follows:
    Switch Kicks - 74
    Power Jacks - 26
    Power Knees - 53
    Power Jumps - 25
    Globe Jumps - 10
    Suicide Jumps - 11
    Push up Jacks - 14
    Plank Obliques - 43

Not too bad and not too far off from the models.

I am not following the nutrition guide, but I am following a pretty strict diet. I cut out all soda, white bread, potatoes, sweets, etc. I am also making sure my portion sizes are smaller than usual. I think I am doing pretty well with my own diet. A typical day is as follows:
Breakfast - Cup of light yogurt
Lunch - Whatever the cafeteria is serving, usually pretty good portion size
Snack - A mix of raisins, almonds, sunflower seeds, and pretzels
Supper - Usually centered around some type of meat with sides of some kind of vegetables

Usually I mix in my 8 cups of water and about 2 cups of milk per day.

I am getting pretty good results two weeks in. Especially in the cardio area and upper body area. I am absolutely working as hard as I can. I am drowning in sweat after the workouts, so I know I am getting the benefits from the workouts.

A question for the veterans of Insanity...
When did you start to notice REAL results in the abs area? That is the main reason I am doing this after all.

Any thoughts and suggestions from anyone would be MUCH appreciated!

    And...here...we...go...

You will start to notice abs around 15-13% body fat.

The part where you get to 15-13% bodyfat... It's different for everyone. Depending where yo start and your diet. By your info sound like you have a ways to go unless you have a LOT of muscle.

I'm pretty muscular. My upper body, calves, and thighs are mostly muscle, it's the abs I'm REALLY trying to tighten up and burn fat.

You can't spot reduce fat, you can work on your abs so they are more noticeable but nothing can substitute body fat loss.

That's why I chose insanity. I have muscle, but its not toned. I was looking to tone that muscle, while burning the fat from the stomach area.

That being said, fat burning from the stomach was the main priority.

Again you can't reduce fat from one spot.

Yes I understand that. I am just saying my abs are what I want to see the most results from.

I mean I plan on doing twice between now and April. I can realistically expect the beginning of a six pack right? Am I close? More or less?

Really and and all suggestions are welcomed!

No one can tell you unless we know your body fat % pics or something man. Not trying to be a dick or anything.

I'm a 34 waist, BMI is around 27, and I did a body fat% calculator online and when I plugged in my numbers it came out to about 14%, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Not sure how helpful that is to you all.

I did insanity and didn't get the ab results I wanted. You may have to do more ab workouts outside of insanity. Did you take before pics? Throw em up and throw up your now pics as well if you can. It'd be easier to tell what you need to do. Also following a strict diet with enough protein is what really improves your results.

Your diet is terrible and thats what is going to make your abs show.
