Wink Does anyone think the high tempo O is going to wear the Lakers out?

With the new high tempo offense the Lakers are running. My opion is they're going to wear themselves out. I understand that it's early in the season and it was a back to back game against the kings. But, a 30 plus year old team without a good bench is not a good recipe for long term success. Yes for now MWP is playing great, Kobe is Kobe, Howard is and will recover, and Nash will be back soon. As for Gasol, he looks like he's out of his comfort zone. Shooting 20 ft jump shots, losing the ball, not rebounding, and getting beat off the dribble at will. Gasol looks slow and old, and with a up tempo offense he's looking older every game. Look at the missed free throws the past few games. Yeah Howard missed his share, but the team shot free throws poorly. The defense at times looks great. But to ask a older team to run up and down the court and play defense is asking a lot out of even the youngest players in the league. I think Mitch will some how tweak the roster a bit. Maybe a Pau trade for a player that'll fit the system. Or even trying to bring in help for the bench. I don't know who or how Mitch will handle it. But he manage to get Howard for Bynum the bowler. I have faith in Mitch, and I think the lakers will fix the early season problem. At the end the lakers will be in the finals. Just 1 mans opinion.

I think we need that PG that is able to make quick intelligent decisions during the up-tempo game for it to work effectively. I wouldn't necessarily say we would get worn out but we do need to find a balance because with so many weapons we can score at will in a half court. We need Nash back.

I think when Nash comes back along with Blake. It'll help both the starters and bench play. But I really hope the front office can find a solid trade for gasol. Gasol was great for the lakers a few years ago. But not now. need to trade him before his value drops Mitch needs to find a good player that fits the system. He's not playing close to his 19 mill a season.

back to back after a hard fought game, most teams play poorly, especially against a young team like sac-town and on the road.

    i'll give 'em a pass

I'm hoping they find a way to cut kobes mins down to around 35 mins a game. One think is for sure . The team is very exciting to watch.

Have u been watching the games??? It all depends on who the Lakers play, not every game is fast tempo. They should be fine. Like you said, the roster issues are of greater concern. They got to find a way to score first and then from that, have that desire to WANT to play defense.

I feel like Josh Smith makes too much sense.

Pau is smarter and a better passer, but has such a low impact on most games.

tbh, the major thing i like about smith is his defense, offensively i could care less, he doesnt bring the versatility gasol does but im sick of gasol bein a stiff defensively

No he doesn't have a low impact in most games. Everyone just has high expectations for him. Very few pf in the league can put up the numbers he puts up as the 1st option, let alone the 3rd option. Those numbers will likely settle at around 17 pts and 10 reb a game.

Not with this squad, MWP is in the best shape of his career so he should be fine, Kobe's work ethic won't let him wear down, Nash thrives off this system so he should be fine, D12 will be 100% soon and is young so he's fine, our bench is young, and I believe Antwan and Blake will enjoy shooting the ball often. My only concern is Pau, the Lakers might make a mid season trade for a younger more athletic PF. But the Lakers still need that backup SF..

Our bench will kill us before the tempo does. Hopefully, when Nash returns; That will push Morris back to the bench. That along with improved play from Meeks and Jamison will help out a lot.

If you run 6 or 7 deep yes.

    The truth is painful
