Pettitte to make career choice by the end of next week

    http://tracking.si.com/2012/11/22/an...2_a8&eref=sihp

Yankees southpaw Andy Pettitte will reportedly decide if he’ll continue his playing career by the end of next feel, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman:

friend of andy pettitte says he expects pettitte to decide on '13 by the end of next week. #yankees
Pettitte, 40, went 5-4 with a 2.87 ERA in 12 starts for the Yankees last season. He was sidelined for more than two months with a fractured ankle after a ground ball struck it in June.

Pettitte was drafted by the Yankees in the first round of the 1990 draft. He has spent the majority of his 17-year career with the team and is the MLB’s all-time leader in postseason wins (19). After months of speculation, Pettitte announced his retirement in February 2011. He returned as a guest instructor for the Yankees during spring training in 2012 and then signed a minor league contract with the team worth $2.5 million.

He's old, and has had a nice career.

If he wants to continue with the Yanks, I wish him well.

This. he's slowly becoming the brett favre of baseball. Still wants to play, wants everyone to care about him doesn't wanna do the whole training camp thing still wants to get paid. Come back be the 3-5th starter and maybe not get injured and help during a playoff run and call it a season. Who cares lol.

Guys like Pettite drive me nuts. Retire or remain in the game for **** sakes. Just make up your mind. Maybe he hangs out with Clemens,Jordan and Favre too much.

I don't see him not coming back.

He still pitches very well for his age.

I don't think Pettitte is milking this at all, and nothing like Favre.

He is just deciding if he wants to pitch another year or not. He has that right, and he is taking an appropriate amount of time to decide that.

Drama Queen! Same nonsense every year from him - make a (early) decision and shut up about it.

All this repeated drama takes away from his outstanding career.
