Jay-Z is the definition of an inconsistent artist.

His neverending discography that consists of 3-4 good albums is a direct reflection of that.

Over Nas? I don't see it.

I agree with the never ending discography statement. He should have stopped with American Gangster, but I don't see much inconsistency.

    Reasonable Doubt (1996)
In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 (1997)
Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life (1998)
Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter (1999)
The Dynasty: Roc La Familia (2000)
    The Blueprint (2001)
    The Blueprint II (2002)
    Black Album (2003)
    Kingdom Come (2006)
    American Gangster (2007)
    The Blueprint III (2009)
    Watch the Throne (2011)

Which ones do you consider inconsistent or drop off?

The Dynasty, The Blueprint II & III, and Watch the Throne are his only albums, which I can agree are not even close to his best work.

That leaves 8 out of 12 projects that consistent, very well rounded albums.

I don't see that with Nas. He has 10 solo albums and I can't say there are more then 5 that I would go out of my way to listen to on a regular basis.

I try to keep a very unbias view, as these are two of my favorite rappers of all time. But there is no way I can say Nas has had a more consistent career.
