    Steve Novak???

I know this is a touchy subject (most of you swear by Novak)but the way Novak is struggling both offensively and defensively ,does he need to be out of the rotation?

I like Novak but I still have major concerns about his inability to drive to the basket, shoot of the dribble and his defense is......well .....hes slow as mollasas.

Hes a major defensive liability and with Woodson's accountability rule in effect Novak is not being accountable....but he actually dont have the ability to hold himself accountable.

Im for Pablo and White taking Novak mins and use Novak for key possessions of the game for his 3 pt shooting ability or as a decoy.

I know we paid him big bucks but the Miami series is fresh in my mind and I dont see any improvement. Thoughts???

His presence on offense is a weapom but if he really cant knock down shots, he needs to lose minutes

In my eyes Novak was a vet min type player and always will be he is a 1 dimensional player with out the physical tools to do much more. I wish we would have brought in Matt Barnes he was perfect for us but **** happens.

Novak hasnt been lights out like last year, I agree. If he's not killing it from downtown... He's gotta play less minutes. His defense has actually improved but at the end of the day he's useless if he isnt hitting the 3. I would play him around 12-15 minutes a game unless he is on fire.

15 minutes is way too much.

How many minutes does he need to fling up 6 threes?

Its seems like only when he's shooting well, we lose.

A lot depends on how a player practices. If he is giving his all in practice and knocking down shots then the coach will play him. Shooters like Novak can get hot all of a sudden or cool off for a while. He is a pure shooter however and will come around and be key for the Knicks. If he is kept out he loses his confidence and then becomes a pure shooter on the bench.

From what ive seen so far he comes in at a certain time usually second Qtr. That needs to stop. Pablo and White plays defense.....give them Novak's mins and when we have the lead of 15+ we can put him out there and hopefully he gets hot.

But seriously we need to consider play zone and just let JR roam...we need to tweak our defensive scheme when hes in there.

Amare comes back and someone has to lose minutes. If Novak doesn't pick it up, he's the obvious choice.

Yeah if he doesn't improve by the time Stat gets back he will probably fall out of the rotation. But as for White taking his minutes, I just do not see that happening.

we're gonna need novak in the playoffs. we all saw how easy it was for the heat because of mike miller last year. we need the spacing and a hot 3 pt specialist is deadly, even if it's for one critical game (mike miller happened to finally catch fire in game 5 of the nba finals). novak is 1 dimensional yes, he is a gangly white guy with minimal athleticism. i think we keep him in the rotation, just minimally. he's too good to stay cold and I think we will all see his shot turn around. career 43% shooters don't just forget how to shoot one day.

His best game was against Miami.

I am not ready to close the door on Novak yet. You don't just lose your jumper like that, dude has been lights out his whole career. When that 3 ball is dropping it is such a huge weapon for us. There were multiple games last year a few dagger 3s brought us home down the stretch. He will get back to automatic status. Even the greatest shooters have slumps. We just haven't seen it yet for Novak.

Stupid me to pick him on my fantasy team :/

He kills the team defensively with his very late rotations and he hurts our lack of rebounding even more. That's why if hes not shooting his 45% from 3 he hurts us way more than he helps us. I'm hoping he can get his consistent stroke back b/c if not its detrimental to the team for him to get minutes.

Thank you! I actually mentioned this since the pre-season! Novak was playing way too many minutes. And right now, for a purely-one-dimensional-player, he needs to play less.

Give White a chance, he proved to be a solid defender in pre-season and he can knock down the occasional 3. Plus, he is a fast break threat.

Prigioni should get playing time, especially if Kidd is starting at SG (meaning Kidd shouldn't be the backup PG because that would mean he's playing a lot of minutes).

White or Copeland can take Novak's minutes until he gets his touch back.
